2026 Champions for Kids Luncheon

Champions for Kids will celebrate the launch of the 2026 Kids Count in Michigan report and share strategies to improve outcomes for kids.
About this Event

The Michigan League for Public Policy's Champions for Kids luncheon will celebrate the release of the 2026 Kids Count in Michigan Data Profiles and a special report on youth and young adults. Our panel will explore strategies that will help Michigan's kids and families thrive.

Champions for Kids will feature:

• The latest findings on child well-being and policy strategies to improve outcomes
• The 2026 Champion for Kids Award will also be presented to MOASH for their work to lift up youth voices, respect and celebrate their identities, and advance youth sexual health in Michigan.
• The panel will feature Melissa Kiesewetter, president of Keweenaw Bay Ojibwa Community College; Arabia Simeon, founder and CEO of POGO; and Dr. Daniel Williams, president and CEO of the Steelcase Foundation.
• Networking opportunities with policymakers, funders, advocates and community members

If overnight accommodations are needed, we have secured a room block at The DoubleTree by Hilton Lansing. This hotel is connected to the Lansing Center by a skywalk. Please book by September 8th. Booking instructions are below:

2. For date adjustment needs, please change the Check-in and Check-out date box at the top of site.
3. The booking form will ask for the guest details and email address.
4. The secure payment option is the section of the booking form that holds your credit card details. Input your credit card information.
5. Once you have completed this step click the “Make Reservation” button and your reservation will be sent immediately to the Hotel.
