2026 Canon Nelson Pinder Commemoration Day

Churches throughout the Diocese of Central Florida are invited to observe Canon Nelson Pinder Commemoration Day on Sunday, July 12, to honor the enduring legacy of a man whose faithful leadership and nonviolent witness helped move our diocese toward racial justice and reconciliation.
At our 54th Annual Diocesan Convention, a resolution was passed unanimously establishing July 10 as an annual diocese-wide commemoration of Canon Pinder's life and ministry. This year, with permission from Bishop Justin Holcomb, the observance has been transferred to Sunday, July 12, to encourage widespread participation.
The Canon Nelson Pinder UBE Chapter of Central Florida has prepared resources for churches, including:
• A specially written collect
• Recommended scripture readings
• A short biography of Canon Pinder
