Join us for an unforgettable evening with Chef Katie Liu-Sung, Executive Chef and Owner of Chewology in Westport, Kansas City, Missouri. Known for her Taiwanese-inspired street food and as a two-time James Beard Foundation Semifinalist for Best Chef: Midwest (2024 & 2025), Chef Katie brings bold flavors, big personality, and a deeply personal culinary philosophy to this highly anticipated Broadmoor Bistro event.

This exclusive dinner will feature passed appetizers followed by a four-course menu crafted in collaboration with Broadmoor’s culinary students — a night of storytelling through food that reflects Chef Katie’s culture, journey, and unmistakable culinary voice.

Chef Katie’s culinary journey began at the age of three, mentored by her mother and great-grandmother in the art of dumpling making. Her story spans Taiwan, California, and the American Midwest — weaving together tradition, resilience, and creativity.

From her earliest food memories to founding Chewology and its celebrated pop-up concept Stray Kat, Chef Katie has built a culinary world that honors her Taiwanese roots while embracing fearless experimentation. Her fried chicken has even earned praise in The New York Times, elevating comfort food into emotional storytelling.

This dinner is more than a meal — it is a celebration of identity, community, heritage, and the powerful connection between memory and cuisine. Broadmoor Bistro is honored to welcome Chef Katie Liu-Sung as we continue the 2025 Guest Chef Dinner Series.

Katie Liu-Sung is the Executive Chef and Owner of Chewology, a celebrated Taiwanese street-food restaurant located in Westport, KCMO. Her work has earned national recognition, including being named a James Beard Award Semifinalistfor Best Chef: Midwest in both 2024 and 2025.
