The 2026 BOPARC Kids TRYATHLON is all about trying your best, having fun, and celebrating what you can do! This beginner-friendly event is inspired by a traditional triathlon and gives kids the chance to swim, bike, and run in a fun, supportive environment.
🏅 No timing. No pressure. Just FUN!
📍 Where: Marilla Pool & Park
705 East Brockway Ave., Morgantown, WV 26501
📅 When: Sunday, August 2
⏰ 8:00–11:00 a.m. (Participant start times will be assigned after registration closes.)
👧👦 Who: Youth ages 5–14 (entering 1st–8th grade in Fall 2026)
💲 Cost: FREE!
Pre-registration is required. Register using the link above!
🏁 Race Distances
Ages 5–7
🏊 Swim: 25 meters
🚴 Bike: ½ mile
🏃 Run: ½ mile
Ages 8–14
🏊 Swim: 75 meters
🚴 Bike: 1 mile
🏃 Run: 1 mile
The entire course is contained within Marilla Park.
ℹ️ What You Need to Know
✅ Bring your own bike (training wheels and big wheels are welcome!)
✅ A properly fitted bike helmet is required.
✅ U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jackets are permitted during the swim.
✅ Parents, guardians, or older siblings are welcome to walk or run alongside participants during the bike and run portions.
✅ Participants are encouraged to complete as much of the course as they're comfortable with—this event is all about trying something new and having fun!
