To honor Bishop Hill’s very own Company D, IL 57th Volunteer Infantry, Bishop Hill is having a Civil War Day on Saturday May 16. There will be a living history encampment in the village park with programs going on every hour. Some of the programs that are scheduled are: artillery demonstration, an appearance by General John Logan, a Civil War Ball, a medical demonstration, an afternoon skirmish, and much, much more. The Steeple Building Museum will also have a special Company D exhibit. Event is free and open to the public. • 9 a.m.: Drill at Coopers’ field
• 10:30 a.m.: Ration Issue in Park
• 11:30 a.m.: General Logan speech by Fox at Gazebo
• 1:30 p.m.: Concert by 33rd band at Gazebo
• 2:30 p.m.: Artillery Demonstration at Coopers’ Field
• 3:30 p.m.: Battle at Coopers’ Field, followed by Medical
Demonstration at park
• 6-8 p.m.: Civil War Ball at Bishop Hill Creative Commons
