About this Event
Jewelology Kids’ Art Studio – Autumn Term 2026
Creative Art Classes for Children in Greenwich, London
Joy in Art, Love in Heart.
This autumn, Jewelology is offering two complementary children’s art classes designed to support different aspects of creativity.
Children may join one class or attend both. The first class focuses on imagination, lines, shapes and visual storytelling. The second class focuses on colour, watercolour, painting and material exploration.
Together, the two classes help children develop a fuller creative language — from drawing and form, to colour, emotion and expressive art-making.
Children will be guided by artist and designer Octavia Yang, founder of Jewelology, with over ten years of experience in art, design and creative education.
At the end of the term, we will celebrate the children’s work with a special Christmas Children’s Art Exhibition at Firepit Art Gallery. Families and friends will be warmly invited to enjoy the children’s artwork and celebrate their creativity, imagination and progress together.
Class 1: Creative Drawing, Lines & Forms
Sundays | 10:00–11:00
Age 4–9
This class focuses on creative drawing, visual imagination, lines, shapes and form.
Children will be encouraged to explore how a line can become a character, how a shape can become a world, and how simple marks can grow into stories, animals, dream spaces, secret friends and imaginative scenes.
Through storytelling, music, movement and guided creative prompts, children will learn to develop their own visual language. They will build confidence in drawing, observation, composition and expressive mark-making.
This class is especially suitable for children who enjoy drawing, imagining, inventing characters and creating stories through pictures.
Children will explore:
Creative association and imaginative thinking
Line, shape, form and character creation
Visual storytelling and picture-making
Composition and spatial awareness
Drawing from stories, music, nature and emotions
Confidence and creative flow through art-making
Main materials may include acrylic markers, pencils, oil pastels and mixed drawing tools.
Class 2: Colour, Watercolour & Painting Exploration
Sundays | 11:30-12:30
Age 4–9
This class focuses on colour, watercolour, painting, texture and expressive material exploration.
Children will be guided to discover how colours can carry feelings, how water and paint can move across the page, and how different materials can create atmosphere, depth and emotion.
Through playful projects, children will explore colour mixing, brush movement, paint layering, oil pastels, watercolour effects and mixed-media expression. They will learn to respond to stories, music, seasons, nature and inner worlds through colour and texture.
This class is especially suitable for children who love colour, painting, sensory materials and expressive art-making.
Children will explore:
Colour, emotion and self-expression
Watercolour, paint and brush movement
Oil pastel and mixed-media techniques
Texture, layering and visual atmosphere
Nature-inspired and seasonal painting projects
Joy, confidence and freedom through colour
Main materials may include watercolour, paint, oil pastels, acrylic markers and occasional mixed-media materials depending on the project.
For Children Attending Both Classes
Children who attend both classes will experience a rich and complete creative journey.
The morning class helps children build their drawing language through lines, shapes, imagination and visual storytelling. The second class expands this creative language through colour, painting, texture and emotional expression.
Together, the two classes support children to grow in confidence, creativity, observation, imagination and artistic independence.
