Spend an evening supporting area youth with this year’s special guest speaker, Christian Laettner. Christian is a former professional basketball player, best known for his time at Duke University where he helped the Blue Devils win two NCAA championships in 1991 and 1992. He is known for his famous game-winning shot against Kentucky in the 1992 regional final.
A member of the 1992 “Dream Team”, Laettner went on to have a 13 year NBA career, which included one All-Star appearance, and is now involved in basketball coaching and development. He was named College Basketball Player of the Year and was the Final Four
Most Outstanding Player in 1991. He was the only college player selected for the 1992 U.S. Olympic “Dream Team”. He was the 3rd overall pick by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 1992 NBA draft and played 13 seasons in the NBA for six different teams, including
the Timberwolves, Altanta Hawks and the Detroit Pistons. He was selected to the NBA All-Rookie First Team in 1993 and was an NBA All-Star in 1997.
This is a fundraising event including several ways to support youth throughout the evening.
