Please join us for the 2026-2027 Registration Open House. Central Preschool is Iowa's OLDEST preschool located in Charles City. We boast the use of many evidence based curriculums, including Teaching Strategies GOLD, 2nd Step Emotional Learning, Heggerty, Really Great Reading/ Launchpad, Bridges/Number Corners. Our program is play and academic based; the perfect mix to help your child grow both socially and academically to ready them for kindergarten. Classes are lead by a certified teacher and certified paraeducator with the assistance of Foster Grandparents. Our three year old class (3 by Sept 15th) meets Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings. The cost of this program is $125 per month. We do accept Child Care Assistance, student may also apply for an income based tuition grant from ECI.
Our four year old class meets four (M,T,Th,F) afternoons a week and is covered by the State Wide Voluntary Preschool Program making the cost of tuition free. Students have the option of attending on Wednesdays making it a five day program for the low monthly fee of $50. Students must be 4 by Sept 15th to be eligible for this program.
A $40 non refundable registration fee is required at the time of registration.
