The 2026/2027 edition of the Fort Wayne Metro USBC "Summit City Women's Classic" returns to Georgetown Entertainment on Saturday, November 7th, 2026 at 10:00 A.M. This event has a long history and a rich tradition and serves as one of the most prestigious titles to hold in the scope amongst Adult Female bowlers.
2026 FORT WAYNE METRO USBC – “SUMMIT CITY WOMEN’S CLASSIC” RULES:
1 – ELIGIBILITY: This is a SINGLES tournament and is open to ANY & ALL USBC SANCTIONED
FEMALE BOWLERS. Entrants must have an USBC certified average of 21 games or more from the 2025-2026 season OR a minimum of 12 games in 2026-2027 current average as of NOVEMBER 5th, 2026. Proof of membership must be provided for non-Fort Wayne Metro USBC member competitors.
2 – FORMAT / DIVISIONS: The Tournament will consist of FOUR (4) GAMES OF QUALIFYING to determine the field for Match-Play. STARTING PAIRS WILL BE PRE-ASSIGNED AND MADE PUBLIC AT CHECK-IN.
QUALIFYING:
Participants will move ONE PAIR TO THE RIGHT after EACH Qualifying Game. The CUT for “Match-Play” will be determined by Qualifying Field Size (If 32 or MORE competitors attempt to Qualify, SIXTEEN {16} competitors will move on to Match-Play. If 31 or LESS competitors attempt to qualify, EIGHT {8} competitors will move on to Match-Play).
MATCH PLAY:
+ROUND OF 16 (IF NEEDED) - SINGLE-GAME HEAD-TO-HEAD MATCHES: (1 VS 16, 2 VS 15, etc…)
+ROUND OF 8 - SINGLE-GAME HEAD-TO-HEAD MATCHES: (1 VS 8, 4 VS 5, 2 VS 7, 3 VS 6). WINNER WILL BE DETERMINED BY TOTAL PINS WITH HANDICAP TO ADVANCE.
FINAL FOUR:
The remaining FINAL FOUR participants will participate in “Stepladder Finals” (Single Game Elimination Match) until a CHAMPION is crowned.
3 – AVERAGES / HANDICAPPING: The tournament will have ONE STANDARD ADULT DIVISION. Handicap for players will be 90% of their average from 200. A SCRATCH SIDE OPTION is offered for interested participants. The 10-pin rule WILL be in effect. Any bowler having an average of 10 pins or HIGHER than last year’s 2025-2026 AS OF NOVEMBER 5th, 2026, must declare the higher average (21 GAMES MINIMUM). Failure to comply can result in disqualification.
4 – ENTRY SUBMISSION / REGISTRATION: Bowlers are responsible for verifying their own average, whether submitted by the bowler, or others. If the submitted average is lower than required and results in a lower classification or more handicap, the bowler's score WILL BE disqualified. If the submitted average is higher than required, prize winnings will be based on the submitted average. Entry fees must accompany physical entry form upon submission. PAYMENTS (CHECK/MONEY ORDER) MADE PAYABLE TO Fort Wayne Metro USBC, P.O. BOX 11645, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46859. The entry fee of $55.00 must be paid at time of entry ($65.00 if participating in Scratch Challenge). Walk-Ins are welcome but only if entered NO LATER than :30 minutes prior to shift start time on a “first come, first serve” basis and only if space permits. Register by contacting Fort Wayne Metro USBC by email at [email protected] or by phone at 260-432-7278. Your first choice will be given unless otherwise notified.
5 – PRIZE FUND: 100% OF THE PRIZE FUND WILL BE RETURNED ON A “1 IN 5” RATIO within the STANDARD division of competition. Those competing in the OPTIONAL SCRATCH CAHLLENGE WILL PAY “1 in 10” with a guarantee of at least $100 to win. 100% OF PRIZE FUND WILL BE RETURNED. Checks for prize winners will be issued within THIRTY (30) DAYS of the tournament’s completion (standard USBC Compliance).
6 –GENERAL CONDUCT: Bowlers are expected to on-time and at their lanes during competition. Any delays deemed “unnecessary” by the tournament director can carry potential penalty (loss of turn for the frame).
7 - USBC COMPLIANCE: ALL USBC RULES WILL BE IN EFFECT INCLUDING USBC RULE 303 (Right to refuse entry). Violation of tournament rules or USBC rules will carry the penalty of disqualification of the bowler with no refund.
