Join co-hosts Bikes Not Bombs (BNB) and Mattapan Food and Fitness Coalition (MFFC) for 3 days of fun, education, and youth empowerment - both on and off the bike! Youth and adults alike are invited to join us, with youth especially encouraged to be facilitators, decision makers, and presenters throughout the summit.The Youth Bike Summit (YBS) is a 3-day national conference bringing together students, educators, advocates, researchers, policy makers, and community leaders in order to: gather and share ideas; give youth a voice, and; encourage civic engagement and advocacy. Through workshops, presentations, keynote speakers, discussion, and visioning, we transform dialogue into action.
Tentative schedule is as follows:
- Friday May 30th: event check-in; dorm room check-in; optional activities for early arrivals; evening welcoming reception
- Saturday May 31st: opening plenary; classroom, mobile, and off-site workshops; youth-led activities and games at dorms
- Sunday June 1st: closing 'visioning session' led by youth participants; large group bike ride throughout Boston for all participants.
