This will be the fifth running of the event, formally known as the Pikes Peak Winter Marathon.
This edition, held during the last official weekend of Winter, may bring relatively warmer temperatures than in previous years, but there will likely be snowier conditions above treeline as well. We’ve had finishers each year except for last year where no one made it to Bob’s Rd due to waist deep snow. This is a self supported “fat-ass” event and everyone who participates does so at their own risk.
There is a recommended starting time of 8:00 am but participants are welcomed to start at any time.
The route is to make it to the summit of Pikes Peak and return to Manitou along any route of your choosing.
There will be no aid stations and no entry fee or awards. Finishers may get a bumper sticker. The summit house may be closed so you should be prepared to be self supported. Don't go up what you can't come down.
