About this Event
The 2025 Utah Earthquake Working Group meetings will be held Monday, February 10 and Tuesday, February 11, 2025 in the Department of Natural Resources Building (DNR) auditorium at 1594 West North Temple in Salt Lake City by the Utah Geological Survey (UGS). The Utah Quaternary Fault Parameters Working Group (UQFPWG) and the Basin and Range Province Earthquake Working Group (BRPEWG) will be meeting this year. Links to agendas will be posted shortly.
Meeting Registration
A registration fee per day of $30 (+tax and fees) includes a hot lunch and morning and afternoon breaks.
Monday, February 10 - Utah Quaternary Fault Parameters Working Group
Who should attend? Geotechnical and engineering consultants, academic faculty, students, and federal and state agencies.

Who should attend? State agency hazard geologists, academic faculty, and federal and state agencies.

Accommodations
The Hyatt Place Salt Lake City Downtown/Gateway (55 N 400 W, Salt Lake City) is near the UTA TRAX Green Line Arena station. Other hotels are also available downtown and nearby to a TRAX station. See the Transportation and Parking section below for more information on the UTA TRAX light rail system.
Meeting Site (DNR Auditorium)
The DNR Building is open 8:00a - 5:00p Monday to Friday, including the Natural Resources Map & Bookstore (https://mapstore.utah.gov/) in the Main Lobby. Please plan to arrive a few minutes early to sign in with the security desk at the main entrance. Signs will be posted directing you from the Main Lobby to the Auditorium on the 1st floor.
Transportation and Parking
Visitor parking is available in front (south side) of the DNR Building for those driving to the meeting. The building is immediately east of the intersection of Redwood Road and West North Temple. Exit Interstate 80 at Redwood Road (SR 68) and travel north to West North Temple. Just north of the Redwood Road/West North Temple intersection, turn right at the next driveway past the KFC/A&W and follow the parking lot around the west end of the three story brick portion of the DNR Building to the south visitor parking lot. The main entrance is adjacent to the south parking lot.
The Utah Transit Authority (UTA) TRAX Light Rail Green Line Power Station (1500 West) is one block to the east of the DNR Building. The Green Line runs from the Salt Lake International Airport, east to downtown Salt Lake City, and then southwest to West Valley City. TRAX trains run every 15 minutes weekdays, and 20 minutes weekends from downtown to the airport, University of Utah to the east, Draper City to the south, and West Valley City and Daybreak to the southwest, including transfer to UTA FrontRunner commuter rail service to Ogden and Provo.
Virtual Meeting Information
If you choose to attend the UQFPWG and/or the BRPEWG meetings virtually, please register using the “UQFPWG - Virtual Option” and “BRPEWG - Virtual Option” on the ticket sales page. Virtual registration is free. The virtual meeting will take place over the Google Meet platform, and meeting URL links will be sent out to registered virtual attendees the week before the meetings. Please practice virtual meeting etiquette, such as keeping your microphone muted and video feed off when not engaging in Q&A or discussion.
