Bring the kids out to Bent Oak Park on the evening of Saturday, November 1st, 2025, for a special one-of-a-kind Trunk or Treat style Halloween event! During this weekend, Bent Oak Park is the host site of a sanctioned Kansas City Barbeque Society BBQ competition known as the BOO-B-QUE Competition. This competition brings in professional BBQ competitors from around the world! We are partnering with them to open up this private event for a couple of hours on Saturday night to allow kids (and families) to walk through the team's area as they will be handing out candy (sorry...not their BBQ food)!
The night will begin with food trucks providing dinner and drinks (non-alcoholic) at 6:00pm. Please know the food trucks are not free and will cost to purchase food. Come enjoy a variety of food from O.G. Bandits BBQ, Tacos El Sombrero, 451 Pizza, specialty seasonal drinks from Cowpoke Corral, and yummy desserts from Chelsea's Cake Collection! Then at 7:00pm, the Trunk or Treat portion of the night will begin.
Come enjoy some great food, show off the kid's Halloween costumes, collect some candy, and have the chance to view/talk with professional BBQ competitors! It's a one-of-a-kind night!
Please note that we will ask that you enter and exit Bent Oak Park through the 30th Street entrance due to placement of the BBQ teams for their weekend event.
