2025 Spring Show

Come join us for an unforgettable afternoon filled with love, laughter, and song at the Lassiter Concert Hall! This in-person event will take place on Sunday, April 6, 2025 at 3:00 PM. If you are not familiar with this venue, you should know that it was designed to present musical concerts and is said to have acoustics that are extraordinary. The hall itself is worth the admission price for this concert.

The Spring Show will again be under the Direction of Michaela Slamka-Johnston. Michaela come to the Big Chicken Chorus as an accomplished music teacher, director, arranger, and vocal performer. She holds degrees in Music Education and Music Theory from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Michaela is a 4th generation barbershopper and 3rd generation International Barbershop Quartet Champion. Michaela was Tenor with Class Ring 2014 Rising Star Champions and 2019 Sweet Adeline International Champions and is the current Baritone with Dynasty 2024 and 2025 International Silver Medalist Quartet. She and her husband, Nathan Johnston, sing in Double Date 2014 and 2016 BinG! World Mixed Quartet Champions. Michaela real role in life is being the mother.

Our performance will include traditional music arranged in 4-part close harmony and performed by the Big Chicken Chorus, local Barbershop quartet - Classic Cuts, and our featured guest performers, Double Date. The 1st half of this year's performance will feature the Big Chicken Chorus woven into a skit featuring the Easter Bunny and his previously unknown relative the Easter Chicken. You won't want to miss the humor on display as members of the BCC role play in a worldly adventure.

At prices from $0 for children 12 and under (call 404 482-3006 to order), to $25 for VIP Seating, this is a show intended to put the entire family in the Spring Spirit, ready to celebrate the Easter season at prices most families and individuals can easily afford.

Double Date -

Double Date is a vocal quartet formed in 2012. They met in choir at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. They won the Barbershop in Germany! World Mixed quartet competition two times. The first time in 2014, and the second in 2016.

The quartet's repertoire includes songs in many styles. They perform at community and church events, barbershop shows, parties, and weddings.

This long distance quartet consists of two couples: Michaela and Nathan, and Blair and Ravi. They're best friends. Their two beautiful dogs are best friends, too.

We're sure you'll enjoy their combined talents as they sing through their mellifluous melodies.
