Come join us for our annual fall iron pour! This year we are running the BIG furnace again.-Thursday Nov. 20 visiting artists lecture- Virginia Elliot and Ian Skinner from Sloss Metal Arts in Birmingham. 5:30 PM
- Saturday, Nov. 22- Scratch block sale from 9:00 - 1:00. Blocks will be sold by the USM Artists Guild for $20 each. Come by and make your own tile to be cast in iron! Instruction and tools provided, great for kids!
- Saturday 1:00 pm on we will have the furnace up and running. Come by and watch us pour molten iron into molds to make sculpture. Feel free to bring a lawn chair!
- T shirts will also be for sale, more on that later.
All events are at the 3D Arts Building, 2905 West 4th Street, Hattiesburg, MS and are free and open to the public.
The visiting Artists are supported by Partners for the Arts and the Nan and Ben Stevens Art and Music Endowment.
No registration required for scratch blocks, lectures or to come and view the pour.
***for Iron Casters*** if you have a pattern and are interested in making a resin sand mold (experience required) or want to bring a mold to be poured- we do require registration. Mold making will be happening from the 18th through noon on Friday the 21st and we have the capacity to make some pretty big molds. We have limited space so please email Jen at [email protected] for a registration link.
