*NOT SURE OF TIMES YETSeedy Saturday is a wonderful event for the community! Local seed and many other vendors will be there. Come on out and support your local growers!
Seeds of IMBOLC is happy to be at this event again this year - my hometown Seedy Saturday.
The Horticultural Societies of Elora & Salem and Fergus & District will jointly host the 5th Annual Centre Wellington Seedy Saturday on Saturday March 16th, 2024.
Again, we are pleased to host to a live event, to be held in the Aboyne Hall, adjacent hallway, and Reading Room of the Wellington County Museum & Archives, 536 Wellington County Road 18 in Fergus.
Doors will be open to the public from 10:30am till 2:30 pm. Entry will be from the parking lot on the north side of the building. As in previous years, admission will be free of charge to all attendees.
There will be something of interest for everyone, regardless of age, gardening experience, and/or expertise as a seed enthusiast. We have lined up a diverse group of vendors of seeds and garden supplies, with community groups and advisory services in attendance. These include:
Vendors:
Arthur Greenhouses, Backyard Seed Savers, Chawin’s Workshop, Colleen’s Garden Signs, Ever Smiles Gardens, Gerrie’s Garden Centre, Hawthorn Farm Organic Seeds, LittleTree Garden Market, Nancy’s Creations & Seeds, Root Rescue, Seeds of Imbolc, Whiffletree Farm & Nursery, and Worm Wrangler.
Community Groups:
Centre Wellington Community Garden Network, Centre Wellington Food Forest, and Neighbourwoods.
Advisory Services:
Guelph-Wellington Master Gardeners and Seeds of Diversity.
Live Workshops:
Saving & Storing Seeds, Starting Seeds, and Vermicomposting.
Donations of seeds are welcomed. These may be freely donated or exchanged for other varieties available on the free exchange tables. Envelopes should be labelled to show the seed variety, colour (if a flowering variety), and the year the seeds were harvested. Seeds may also be taken from the exchange table, subject to a donation, and will also be available for purchase from the commercial vendors.
Please plan to join us for an enjoyable and informative day out. Browse the vendor tables, exchange seeds, meet your neighbours, share stories and information on a huge number of topics, such as genetic diversity, pollination, working with nature, community garden opportunities, and more. A Children’s Activity Corner will also be available for the youngsters in attendance.
For more information, please contact the event organizers, by e-mail at [email protected] or call 226-820-2910.
