Dear Valued Heroes and community. Join us for the 2025 Operation Twin Towers Memorial Challenge, this year paying a soul-stirring, unwavering homage to our cherished hometown hero, Deputy Will May whose ultimate sacrifice pierces our hearts and binds our community in eternal reverence, alongside the indomitable heroes of September 11, 2001.
This sacred, private assembly, open for all law enforcement, police officers, firefighters, sheriff departments, active-duty military, veterans and community.
will unite in resolute honor on September 6 at 6 AM at Wee Care Park, 552 Walton Road, DeFuniak Springs, Florida.
With fierce determination, we’ll ensure Deputy May’s courage, and the courage and legacy of our fallen heroes will burn brightly forever in time.
This event is a team-based fitness challenge that will honor the sacrifices of those lost on 9/11 and Deputy Will May, by uniting law enforcement officers, first responders, military member both active and veteran, and community members in a raw, unbreakable tribute of strength and tenacity.
Event registration opens July 28, 2025, and will close on August 25, 2025.
Event Structure:
Teams of 4, 6, or 8 members plus a captain will carry a log the entire distance, symbolizing the bodies pulled from the ashes of September 11. The captain, bearingthe American Flag, will stand as a beacon of strength, stepping into lift any teammate faltering under the weight of an obstacle. The course is a crucible of six challenges, each a testament to the pain, heroism, and loss of 9/11:
