Men’s & Women’s Weightlifting Competition

Sanctioned and conducted by the New York State WSO of USA Weightlifting

Competition Information:

competition will be organized by entry totals.

Session 1 (Women’s Session): Weigh-in at 8:00 a.m. | Lifting begins at 10:00 a.m.

Session 2 (Men’s Session): Weigh-in at 11:30 a.m. | Lifting begins at 1:30 p.m.

Additional sessions will be added if necessary.

Important:

Weigh-in times may be adjusted depending on the number of entries. Please check your email beginning Wednesday, December 17, 2025, for any updates or changes. The final start list and session breakdown will be published by Tuesday, December 17, 2025.

Men’s weight classes are 60, 65, 71, 79, 88, 98,110 and +110

Women’s weight classes are 48, 53, 58, 63, 69, 77, 86 and +86

Registration

Entry Fee: $70.00

All entries are non-refundable.

Eligibility

• All athletes must be currently registered members of USA Weightlifting (USAW).
• Proof of membership is required at weigh-in.
• Athletes not currently registered must complete membership online before the competition.
• Minors (under 18) may only register with a parent’s or guardian’s authorization.

Rules:

Competition will be conducted under USAW rules.

The minimum starting load will be 10 kg in both the snatch and the clean & jerk.

Awards:

Awards will be presented to:

Top 3 lifters in each men’s and women’s weight class

• Top 3 Youth lifters
• Top 3 Junior lifters
• Top Male and Female (Sinclair formula)
• Top 3 Masters (Masters formula)
• Best Team Award (teams may consist of up to 3 men and 3 women; combined total determines results)

Awards Presentation:

• Men’s awards will be presented at the conclusion of the men’s sessions.
• Women’s awards will be presented at the conclusion of the women’s sessions.
• Team awards will be presented at the conclusion of the entire competition.

Athlete Agreement & Waiver

By submitting your entry, you agree to the following:

I hereby enter the 2025 Nick Curry Memorial / Holiday Open, to be held on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at Black Bear CrossFit, West Babylon, NY. I certify that I am an amateur athlete in good standing.

In consideration of my participation, I release and discharge USA Weightlifting, the New York State WSO, Black Bear CrossFit, Long Island Weightlifting, the event directors, officers, agents, volunteers, and all other organizers from any and all actions, liabilities, claims, or demands arising from injuries, medical treatment, hospitalization, or other losses related to my participation and travel to or from this competition—except in cases of gross negligence or intentional misconduct.

I grant permission to be filmed, photographed, and recorded under conditions approved by USAW and the WSO. I authorize the use of my name, likeness, and performance for promotional purposes related to USA Weightlifting, its sponsors, and the sport of Olympic Weightlifting.

In the event of illness or injury, I authorize medical personnel and event organizers to make necessary decisions on my behalf if I am unable to do so. I agree to assume financial responsibility for all medical care received, except to the extent covered by USA Weightlifting’s insurance policies.

By registering and submitting payment, I acknowledge that I have read and agree to all terms and conditions of this waiver.
