About this Event
Welcome to the 2025 NECoPA (Northeast Conference on Public Administration)!
The Northeast Conference on Public Administration (NECoPA), the annual regional conference of the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) in the Northeast, is intended to provide educational opportunities for scholars (faculty and students), practitioners (administrators and policymakers), and others interested in public service in a collaborative environment by educating all on current issues, research, and practice in public and nonprofit organizations. This conference will be NECoPA’s 16th year of bringing together scholars and practitioners from the northeast region, the United States, and internationally.
Conference Theme
Democratic Governance in a Turbulent World: Innovation, Inclusion, and Comparative Perspectives in Public Administration
The 2025 Northeast Conference on Public Administration (NECoPA) explores the vital question of how public institutions can preserve and advance democratic governance in a world marked by disruption, uncertainty, and complex global challenges. The conference theme—“Democratic Governance in a Turbulent World: Innovation, Inclusion, and Comparative Perspectives in Public Administration”—calls on public administration scholars and practitioners to reflect critically on the evolving role of government, the practice of inclusive and equitable administration, and the possibilities for institutional innovation grounded in ethical public service.
