2025 National NALSA Moot Court Competition

The William S. Boyd School of Law at UNLV in conjunction with the Indian Nations Gaming & Governance (INGG) Program and UNLV Native American Law Student Association are proud to host the 2025 NNALSA Moot Court Competition on February 14-15, 2025.

The National Native American Law Student Association (NNALSA) Moot Court Competition is the only national law school competition that focuses on issues relating to Tribal Nations and federal Indian law. The competition simulates an appellate argument before the U.S. Supreme Court. Participants work in teams of two students and collaborate on a written appellate brief and the subsequent oral argument.

Registration begins on October 18, 2024, and will close when we reach our team limit or on December 1, 2024.

Registration Fee: $400 per team. If you do not have a partner, purchase the Individual ticket that is $200. The Moot Court Administrator will partner you with another Individual registrant.

Each team must submit a complete registration packet to the Competition Administrator by the deadline, per the directions provided on the National NALSA and host school site. The registration packet, the registration form, payment of the entry fee, letter(s) as described in Rule 4.2(c), and any additional requirements. With the exception of Rule 5.2, all applicants are reminded to send NNALSA membership applications, individual dues, and chapter dues to the NNALSA Treasurer before the brief submission deadline of the first Friday in January, per Rules 4.2 and 5.1.

The 2025 Moot Court Competition Problem will be released on October 18, 2024.

Refund Policy:

Teams withdrawing on or before December 1 will receive a full refund of their registration fee. A separate request must be made to receive a membership fee return.

Teams withdrawing before the brief submission deadline but after December 1 will receive a 50% refund, minus administrative and membership fees.

Teams withdrawing after the brief submission deadline will not receive any refund.
