About this Event
MMWA is offering a FREE hazardous waste disposal event, exclusively for residents of Saginaw County, Bethany Township, Village of Breckenridge, and Wheeler Township. All events will take place at MMWA, located at 2063 S. Miller Rd., Saginaw. Please note that residents must make an appointment in advance and provide proof of residency.
Acceptable Materials:
Paint Products:
- Turpentine, Paint Thinners, Strippers & Removers, Oil-Based/Latex Paints, Stains, Varnish, Shellac, Other Solvent-Based Paint Products, Wallpaper Cement, Spray Paint.
Outdoor Products:
- Swimming Pool Chemicals, W**d Killers, Septic Tank Degreasers, Asphalt Sealers, Caulking Compounds, Joint Compounds, Root Cements, Pesticides.
Automotive Products:
- Grease & Rust Solvents, Fuel Additives, Carburetor Cleaners, Transmission/Brake Fluid, Antifreeze, Car (Lead-Acid), Truck, Motorcycle & Marine Batteries, Gas, Oil, Gas-Oil Mixture, Road Flares (No Marine Flares).
Household Products:
- Drain Openers, Rug Cleaners, Wood & Metal Cleaners, Adhesives/Solvents, Rechargeable Batteries, Lithium & Lead Acid Batteries, Spot Removers, Dry Cleaning Fluid, Fire Extinguishers, Smoke Detectors, Kerosene.
Household Other:
- Acids, Caustics, Solvents, Flammables, Oxidizers, Reactives, Lead, Mercury (Thermostats & Thermometers), Fluorescent Tubes, Aerosols.
Electronics Recycling:
- Televisions, Computers, Monitors, Hard Drives, Laptops, Keyboards, Mice, Printers, Fax Machines, Scanners, Phones, Tablets, Miscellaneous Cables & Cords.
Unacceptable Materials:
- Explosives & Ammunition, Infectious or Medical Waste, Prescription Drugs, Tires, Gas Cylinders, Radioactive Waste, Unidentified Waste, Alkaline Batteries (Trash), Appliances/White Goods, Freon/Refrigerants, Containers Larger than 5 Gallons.
Important Notes:
- No Commercial/Industrial Waste will be accepted.
- Farms, schools, businesses, churches, and contractors will be turned away.
- There are no permanent drop-off locations for household hazardous waste in Saginaw County, only the scheduled collection dates.
