Join us in celebrating Chinese and Asian culture and tradition at the Kansas City Lunar New Year Festival on Saturday, January 18th, at JCCC! The KCCA will bring together the community, performance groups, and the Chinese and Asian descendants in Kansas City to present a grand and heartwarming celebration. Enjoy wonderful stage performances, a rich variety of cultural activities, games, and delicious ethnic food! This year's festival, themed “The Ocean Embraces All Rivers,” includes the following four events:
Culture Showcase and Entertainment Activities (Admission Free)
2:00pm – 6:00pm at MTC Lobby
The lobby activities feature Traditional Chinese painting, Spring Festival couplets, Chinese paper cutting, face painting, Traditional Chinese medicine, Chinese Go and Chess, family photo booths, family games, and much more.
Talent Show (Admission Free)
3:00pm – 5:00pm at Polsky Theatre
The talent show features performances like Tai-Chi, Yo-Yo, youth dance, Karaoke, and more. It's an open stage, providing an opportunity for anyone eager to showcase their talents and abilities. Register in advance to secure your chance to participate.
VIP & Pre-show Dinner Reception (VIP Pass Required)
4:30pm - 6:30pm at Cap Fed Conference Center
A VIP Pass includes admission to the VIP and pre-show dinner reception, a ticket to the live stage shows, and a one-year KCCA membership.

Stage Live Show (Ticket)
6:30pm – 8:30pm at MTC Yardley Hall
This event is the highlight of our festival, showcasing a vibrant array of theatrical performances. The lineup includes the Dragon & Lion Dance, various folk dances, an assortment of folk and pop songs, musical folk plays, opera, ballet, and choral performances by local Chinese artistic groups.
