The Jazz Alliance of Mid Michigan, aka JAMM, takes over Jazz Tuesdays for the evening, hosting their 2025 Member Mixer, with a feature performance by the Jauron Perry Quintet, making their Jazz Tuesdays debut. The evening will also feature a performance by the JAMM Scholarship Band, lead by guitarist Doug Fritch.

The Jauron Perry Quintet is an emerging straight-ahead jazz group led by Detroit trumpeter Jauron Perry, a rising artist who is quickly gaining attention. The quintet features talented musicians all from Michigan, including Kevin Brewster on alto saxophone, William Hill, III on piano, Langston Kitchen on bass, and Joe Fielder on drums. Together, they are a collective of artists representing Detroit and Grand Rapids who are currently honing their craft at prestigious institutions such as Michigan State University and the Manhattan School of Music. The group's formation is rooted in a shared commitment to the tradition of jazz, with each member bringing their unique voice and deep understanding of the music to the ensemble.
Throughout the group, the members have been mentored by highly respected names in jazz, including Rodney Whitaker, Wendell Harrison, Walter Blanding, Michael Dease, Jazzmeia Horn, Robert Hurst, and Marc Cary. These influences have shaped their approach to the music, blending the complexities of bebop, the energetic drive of hard bop, the soulful spirit of gospel, and the groove of funk into a cohesive sound. The quintet is known for its unyielding conviction in the midst of performance. Their music is a reflection of their backgrounds and shared experiences, creating a feeling that is both deeply rooted in tradition and forward-looking in its execution.
Since its inception, the Jauron Perry Quintet has made a significant impact on the Metro-Detroit jazz scene.
