2025 HOPWA On-Site Training

IHCDA is hosting a 2-day, in-person HOPWA training and listening session event for IHCDA Project Sponsors. Our goals for this event are to:

1. Foster Project Sponsor knowledge of HOPWA programmatic requirements and best practices that promote positive housing and health outcomes.

2. Strengthen Project Sponsor’s ability to effectively utilize grants and comply with regulations and administrative requirements set by HUD and/or IHCDA.

A finalized agenda will be forthcoming closer to the event. Sample topics thus far include VAWA & HOPWA, Rent and Utility Assistance Calculations through TBRA, and Q&A and listening sessions with IHCDA staff and HUD TA. With that said, if there’s a topic you’d like covered during our time together, please let us know!

Intended Audience: All IHCDA Project Sponsors. Seeing as it’s been a long while since IHCDA has hosted a HOPWA-centric event, and the nature of the topics, we’re requiring each Project Sponsor to send staff at all levels of the agency to attend. HUD has granted approval for Project Sponsors to use HOPWA admin to pay for the cost of attendance (i.e. hotel stay, mileage, meals, etc.).

Limited street parking is available near IHCDA’s office building. However, there are multiple parking garages in the vicinity for anyone driving in.
