2025 Hobby Horse Spring Showcase (May) at SOUL Harbour Ranch

Join us for our Hobby Horse Showcases at SOUL Harbour Ranch in our Foglia Family Foundation Training Center!

Are you new to HH or an accomplished HH rider? Check it out at our fun and non-competitive events! Both new and experienced Hobby Horsers are welcome!

Our current Showcases won't be awarding "place" ribbons. Everyone will get a chance to jump and participate in the various classes but it won't be a "competition." We hope to introduce MORE potential hobby horse enthusiasts to this fun equestrian-themed sport and give those that are experienced a chance to showcase their skills. We will offer more competitive events in the future as more HH's participate! Kids AND Adults are welcome to participate.

DATE: The Hobby Horse Showcase is Sunday, 5/3/25

TIME: 10:30am-1pm (Registration starts at 10:30 until 11:00am. The Fun Jump practice session is also during this time!) *please do not arrive earlier than 10:30am!

LOCATION: SOUL Harbour Ranch, 22093 N. Countryside Lane, Barrington IL (parking: go past the house to the cul-de-sac, left down the driveway to the barns, past the 2nd barn/training center and left towards the parking lot, on the North side of the large arena building/training center).

COST: $15 per participant for 4 events (fun jump, showjumping, barrel racing and high jump). Includes cost of 1 HH participant plus 1 non-participating guest; extra guest $5 donation. *Under 16 must be supervised by parents and/or guardians on-site. * 100% of these proceeds benefit the SOUL Harbour Ranch Animal Therapy Program. *Please bring your own chairs as we have limited seating!

WHAT IS A HOBBY HORSE SHOWCASE?

A Hobby Horse Showcase features “riders” who will complete a course of jumps with their hobby horse (a toy horse made of a straight stick with a small horse's head, or any other animal head, attached to one end).

The Hobby Horse Showcase will be divided into the following events (all participants are invited to 4 events: the fun jump, showjumping, barrel racing and the high jump) *start times are approximate*

REGISTRATION STARTS AT 10:30am

1. Registration & Fun Jump (ALL ages): not timed, just have fun jumping the course! Use as your practice round before the below competitions. Start time: 10:30-11am

2. Showjumping Start time 11:00-11:45 *choose 1 division you would like to be in

Mini Showjumping (poles are on the ground)

Junior Showjumping (poles at 1 foot)

Senior Showjumping (poles at 2 feet)

3. Barrel racing: an exhilarating Western contest racing the barrels. 11:45-12:30

*Choreographed dressage routines welcome for exhibition (please let us know if you have a routine to perform. You must RSVP to [email protected] 12:30-12:45

4. High Jump: ALL riders will be able to participate in the High Jump Competition! (up to 3 feet+)12:45-1pm

Riders can wear Derby or riding attire or dress in whatever they deem appropriate with closed toe shoes.
