Pairs Better Ball Stableford Competition.There are 14 places up for grabs in our European Finals which will include 3 nights B&B, 36 holes of competition golf inc flights and transfers. Venue TBC. The ultimate winners will receive a 6 night trip to Dubai in Nov 25 - with 4 rounds of golf, entry into the final round of the DP World Tour Championship, and get to play the Earth Course the day after the event has finished. The trip includes return economy flights with Emirates, 6 nights B&B in the 5 * Media Rotana Hotel, all golf transfers plus goody bag and goodies.
The events are played as a pairs better ball, playing off 75% of club handicap. Each event has great prizes to win including prizes for Top 3, NP on all Par 3's, Longest Drive plus 2's competition and much more. An Order of Merit runs throughout the year with the Top 8 pairs being invited to the European Finals. OOM points are calculated as follows:- 1st 10points, 2nd 9 points ans so on. Players will also receive 2 pts for each event they attend with the four best scores from the events counting towards the year end total.
Our first event (St Andrews) will have direct place into the finals - there are also a further 5 events with a direct place in the European Finals throught the year.
All players must have active current playing handicap with 12 rounds completed within the last 12 months of which 4 must be competitions at your home club - Full T&C's are available.
Bolton Old Links GC
Bolton Old Links Golf Club, a fantastic Championship Golf Course, a challenging and most enjoyable Par-72 layout, contrasting of two loops of nine with the front half surrounded by the back half. Bolton Old Links is a lovely exposed moorland location, which means wind mainly contributes to the experience, along with our fantastic challenging greens.
The highest point of the course sits on the 12th hole, from where you can experience magnificent breath taking views of the four surrounding counties.
The Golf Club was first opened in1891 as a 9-hole course, the very first Golf Club in the Bolton area. In 1921, the course was developed into its present 18-hole layout by renowned golf course architect, Dr Alister MacKenzie, who was responsible for many wonderful courses worldwide, including Augusta National home of “The Masters” … As a result, we are very proud to have been granted membership of the MacKenzie Society.
Bolton Old Links was designed as a traditional old style or “Links” course, referring to the terrain, layout and ever-present windy conditions due to its height above sea level, rather than a location next to the coast.
The course has been selected as a venue for many professional’s events, including the European Satellite Tour, the Wilson PGA Championship, 1836 tour and more recently Home to the PGA Lancashire Open
A true test of golf, Bolton Old Links has 18 uniquely challenging holes, complimented by a welcoming clubhouse.
