LOCATION & ACCOMMODATION
The ALPCA Lone Star Region is proud to invite ALPCA members throughout Texas and beyond to its 2025 Fall Swap Meet, to be held in the Gladys Blaylock McLane Room on the third (3rd) floor of the Temple Public Library (operating out of the E. Rhodes and Leona B. Carpenter Plaza), 100 W Adams Ave., Temple, Texas. Temple is a city of about 82,000 located on Interstate 35 about thirty-five (35) miles south of Waco, and about sixty-five (65) miles north of Austin.
There are plenty of conveniently located lodging options along Interstate 35 on the north side of Temple at exits 302 (Nugent Ave.) and 301 (Central Ave./Adams Ave.) and elsewhere around town, including many national chain motels.
SCHEDULE & INFORMATION
The doors will open at 9:00 AM Saturday with coffee and doughnuts. The Gladys Blaylock McLane Room is situated at the end of a hallway on the third (3rd) floor of the Temple Public Library and is fully ADA-compliant, accessible by a staircase as well as two (2) elevators though a fair distance from any parking (for move-in/out attendees are strongly encouraged to bring a dolly/cart if they have one). Kindly note we are unable to gain access to the room before 9:00 AM due to library opening hours, so those who show up right at the opening time *could* be expected to help set up tables. All displays must be freestanding or able to lean against the walls. We are not allowed to attach anything to the walls. Lunch will be provided at no cost to meet attendees between 11:30 AM and noon. After lunch, there will be a brief business meeting with our annual review of Region positions (President, Treasurer and Sergeant-at-Arms) and awards, followed by a donation auction. Interested candidates for elected Region positions or who wish to have their vote counted in a Region election for the 2026 term should make it a point to attend this particular meet. Donations are encouraged, either at the meet or beforehand. Those who wish to send donations beforehand can send them to Jim Palmer (#1779), Treasurer. Contact him at treas(at)alpcalonestar(dot)org. Awards will be for Best of Show (for a display of two or more plates), Best Plate (for a single item) and Long Distance. Please note we must vacate the room promptly and have it all cleaned up by 4:00 PM.

DIRECTIONS
Our venue is the Gladys Blaylock McLane Room which is on the third (3rd) floor of the Temple Public Library operating out of the E. Rhodes and Leona B. Carpenter Plaza on W Adams Ave. which is also TX-53, in downtown Temple. The Plaza is located between W Adams Ave. to the south, W Barton Ave. to the north, N 3rd St. to the west and N 1st St. to the east (there is no 2nd St. for some strange reason). To park within view of the room and avoid going up an extra floor in the elevators/staircase, we recommend using the surface lot with convenient entrance/exit off of N 1st St. east of the Plaza, though the option to park in the covered lot right under it (entrance off of N 3rd St. west of the Plaza) also exists. Parking is free and ample for library guests in either case. Enter the library lobby through the main door next to the neon-green painted staircase connecting the surface lot to the covered one (you can’t miss it) and make your way to the two (2) elevators and staircase on your left (staircase is the door next to the elevators). Go up to the third (3rd) floor. Exit and there are wooden doors marked “BOARD ROOM” (this is not our venue) with a sign indicating the direction of the McLane room in front of you. Follow the right pointing arrow, then make a left in front of the men’s restroom to your right. The room is at the very end of the hallway in front of you, behind the double doors with a green diamond-shaped piece of stained glass in the windows.
COMING FROM EITHER THE NORTH OR SOUTH (I-35): Take exit 301 from I-35 and go east on TX-53 (Airport Rd. – a one-way street). After the first traffic light (N 31st St.), TX-53 becomes W Central Ave. Follow W Central Ave. for 0.9 mile past a second traffic light at N 25th St., over the train tracks (elevated overpass) and past a third traffic light at N 9th St. Get ready to turn left at the next traffic light (N 3rd St.). After turning on N 3rd St., go past the traffic light at Adams Ave. (you will pass the Plaza/Temple Public Library to your right) and either turn into the Plaza’s covered parking lot to your right just before you reach W Barton Ave. or (recommended) turn right just north of the Plaza on W Barton Ave, then immediately right again on N 1st St. after the stop sign. Turn right again into the very first entrance you see which is the surface parking lot north of the Plaza building, above the covered parking lot mentioned earlier. Head over to the main Temple Public Library lobby entrance as indicated above.

Note: after Temple on November 15, the next Lone Star Region meet will be in La Grange (north of Schulenburg, about halfway between San Antonio and Houston on I-10) in February 2026 (date TBD).
