The Central Texas Lifeguard Competition is a yearly event held in the month of July. This year, we will be at Typhoon Texas Waterpark in Pflugerville, TX on July 21, 2025.
The competition involves multiple lifeguarding skills events including: Scanning, First Aid, Passive CPR/AED, Suspected Spinal Injury, and Full Scenarios which combine skills demonstration with rule enforcement, customer service, etc. Competitors are challenged to assess each situation as a team and provide high quality care and service. All participants and volunteers are able to enhance their lifeguarding skills and decision-making abilities, which improves communities' confidence in their local lifeguards and aquatics programs.
The Central Texas Lifeguard Competition is a qualifying event to the Texas State Championship Lifeguard Competition, with the top three teams advancing to the state competition.
The Central Texas Lifeguard Competition is open to all lifeguard certification agencies. Lifeguard instructors are not elligible to compete.
