COCOA BROWN is an actress and comedian who takes the stage and the world stands still. Brown is undeniably one of the most talented comics and performers of this generation. The Newport News Virginia native born Farah Brown assails her craft with such passion and soul-searching veracity when she claims a stage the ensuing act is nothing short of a force of nature. Cocoa Brown audaciously draws from painful reminiscences and hard-knock lessons bravely weaving humorous tales that uplift upend and upgrade everything you thought you knew about comedy. What drives the comic that female fans nationwide have nicknamed “The Truth”?  The sheer will of a woman who survived the worst life had to offer and is still standing. The fiery performer whose credits include Tyler Perry’s critically acclaimed comedy series “For Better or Worse” on Oprah Winfrey’s OWN network and a national commercial spot for Progressive Insurance Company has assembled an extensive body of work. A career that began as an advertising associate for Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey Circus and a writer for various sketch comedy shows proved confining for the dynamic performer. She honed her writing and creativity to pursue her dream of being a stand-up comic. A decade later Brown had nearly mastered the art of comedy. She harnessed its essence and purpose performing on top-rated comedy shows including BET’s “Comic View” and “One Mic Stand” and “Showtime at the Apollo”. Today she exemplifies mind-blowing humor daring drama and contemporary reality wrapped in a boundlessly energetic package. Whether she is performing in honor of the incomparable Richard Pryor or acting in films such as “Lakeview Terrace” with Samuel L. Jackson Brown exudes skill and discipline. Those characteristics along with her chilling story of struggle and redemption inspired Tyler Perry to create “Single Moms Club” a feature film that casts the accomplished actress in the leading role.

Evan Lionel is a renowned entertainer with a diverse range of credits in film television and live comedy concerts. He has been a guest star on NBC's "Nightman" USA Network's "Pacific Blue Born Free" Columbia TriStar Productions and co-starred in Oprah Winfrey's and ABC's television movie There Are No Children Here. Lionel has also appeared as Duke Ellington in the hit television series Living Single. He has performed in clubs across the US including Dangerfield's Laugh Factory and the Comedy Store. He has also performed internationally including Japan Korea Saipan Guam and the U.K. Lionel's stand-up comedy has been critically acclaimed and he has been voted the number one comedian on Guam.

Geoff Brown known for his offbeat style and ability to crack jokes has become one of the funniest standups in the country. He has won the Bay Area Black Comedy Competition and was named the 1994 Star Search Comedy Champion. Brown has appeared on Disney's "Phil of the Future" and "The Suite Life" NBC's "Spy TV" UPN's "Girlfriends" Lifetime's "Strong Medicine" Galavision's "Que Loco" Byron Allen's "Comics Unleashed" The Arsenio Hall Show Jaime Foxx's "Laffapalooza" and his own B.E.T. Half Hour Grandstand. He has also written for headlining comedians and co-wrote for Netflix specials. Brown has traveled the world as a popular comedian tour favorite performing for troops in over 20 countries.

THE VENUE: SHRINE AUDITORIUM

This show will be at the Phoenix Shrine Auditorium located at 552 N 40th Street in Phoenix. This venue is located just off North 40th Street between the 202 Red Mountain Freeway and East Van Buren. There is plenty of free parking for this event and once inside you will have easy access to the cash bar and the Shrine Cafe for hot food and snacks.
