About this Event
The 2025 APTA Wisconsin Student Conclave is presented by the APTA Wisconsin Student SIG and Bellin College.
The event will feature PT and PTA student-specific programming, including a keynote speaker, breakout sessions, lunch, an employer exhibit hall, and a Q&A panel. Any Wisconsin student PTs and PTAs are welcome to attend.
Date: Saturday January 18, 2025
Time: 8:00am-1:30pm (check-in from 7:30-8:00am - event will begin promptly at 8am)
Location: Bellin College Michael Van Asten Campus, 2620 Development Dr., Green Bay, Wi 54311 (NOTE: This is NOT Bellin College's main campus)
Your registration fee of $22 will include a standard lunch for students who register before January 8th, 2025. Free surface lot parking is available at the event venue.

Engage with other Wisconsin student PT/PTAs and network with Wisconsin employers over the lunch hour during the included lunch and employer exhibit hall.
Following lunch, there will be an interdisciplinary panel, featuring numerous healthcare providers that interact with physical therapists on a daily basis. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about their experiences working on a healthcare team with PTs, and providing insight of how to improve interdisciplinary communication.

Implementation of AI into practice with Dr. Tony Marquez, PT, DPT, OCS
This informational session will provide a review of AI in the context of Rehbilitation Therapy. The primary focus will be on exploring how AI is transforming key aspects of the field, including documentation, patient scheduling, and overall patient care. Dr. Marquez will also highlight numerous benefits that AI brings to rehab therapy, such as improving efficiency, enhancing personalized treatment plans, and streamlining administrative tasks. The aim is to provide a clear understanding of how AI can optimize both the clinical and operational sides of rehabilitation therapy, espeically in a health world with high burnout rates.
Vestibular Treatments with Dr. Brian Peterson, PT, DPT
This discussion will include the essentials of assessment and treatment for common vestibular disorders including BPPV and hypofunction. Gain an understanding of current Clinical Practice Guidelines and learn how to use video goggles. We will demonstrate examination techniques and discuss real patient cases to improve our skills of defining the direction of nystagmus, treatment options, and when to refer.
Deciphering Headaches: One Mechanism At A Time with Dr. Mary Beth Geiser, PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT
The purpose of this lecture is to explore the mechanisms behind different types of headaches (nociceptive, neuropathic, nociplastic) and stress how proper pain phenotyping helps guide treatment. Students will be challenged to use clinical-reasoning skills to find answers and engage in gaming strategies to reinforce key concepts used in the case studies.
