About this Event
SAR offers residential internships for emerging museum professionals, providing hands-on experience with Native communities and the Indian Arts Research Center (IARC) collections. Hear from this year’s interns on their experience at SAR and their plans for the future.
Alex Hawley (Diné) grew up in Ogden, Utah, and visited family in Shiprock, New Mexico, throughout her childhood. In 2019, Hawley received a BA in anthropology with a minor in Native American studies from Dartmouth College. She continued her studies at the University of Auckland as a Fulbright U.S. Graduate awardee where she received an MA in Museums and Cultural Heritage in 2024.
Olivera Masters earned a BA and MS in anthropology with a concentration in archaeology from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. She credits having grown up in a Mexican-Japanese American household as a driving factor in her decision to study anthropology.
This event will be held in person in the SAR Dobkin Boardroom and live streamed on SAR’s YouTube channel.
