2024 Upslope Backcountry Tap Room benefiting Leave No Trace

Annnnd we're back... to the backcountry! Join us for the 9th annual Backcountry Tap Room, our hike to a pop-up tap room experience for brews and views, on Saturday, September 28, 2024, this year on the Mary Jane side at Winter Park Resort!

Get ready to enjoy some good beers in the great outdoors... but you'll have to earn 'em! Join us at 10,350 feet for a family-friendly, day hike to soak up some brews and views!

↠ NONPROFIT PARTNER: We're teaming up with our friends at Leave No Trace again this year! 50% of the profits will go directly to Leave No Trace to support their continued efforts in protecting the outdoors.

↠ WHEN // Saturday, September 28 (9:30 am - 5:00 pm)

• Bar hours: 10:00 am - 4:30 pm
• Check-in opens at 9:30 am
• Check-in closes at 2:30 pm
• Last call at 4:30 pm. Event ends at 5:00 pm.

↠ WHERE // NEW location - The Mary Jane side at Winter Park Resort by way of a 4x4 gravel trail to ``10,350 feet

↠ TICKETS // Event profits benefit Leave No Trace

• Event ticket (hike + beer): $31.00 + fees
• Non-drinker ticket & Kids over 16 (hike only): $20.00 + fees

All 21+ attendees (with valid ID) will receive four (4) drink tickets - good for one (1) specialty brew and up to three (3) more cans of our 12 oz year-round styles of beer and/or Spiked Snowmelt, our craft hard seltzer.

↠ THE HIKE // The hike this year will begin from the Utah Junction lot or the Corona Lot (overflow lot) on the Mary Jane side of the mountain. Guests will then hike up Corona Way for approximately 1.4 miles from the Utah Junction lot (or 1 mile from the Corona Lot) with an elevation gain of about 800 feet, until you get to the picturesque location nearby the base of the Panoramic and Sunnyside lifts.

↠ PARKING // Enter the resort through the Mary Jane entrance of Winter Park Resort by turning onto Mary Jane Road from US-40. Check-in and the trailhead of the hike will be located at the Utah Junction parking lot, known affectionately to locals as 'C Lot'. Parking will be available in the Utah Junction lot, Corona lot (overflow), Rollins Pass lot, and along the road as needed. PLEASE CARPOOL!

• Utah Junction Parking Lot: 2110 Mary Jane Rd, Winter Park, CO 80482 (Do NOT go to the Mary Jane Base, but follow signs to the Utah Junction Parking Lot instead!)
• The Corona Siding Lot is the first parking lot on the left as you drive down Mary Jane Road from US HWY 40

* IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT THIS YEAR'S EVENT:

• This is the same location as the 2023 event on the Mary Jane side. There is NO gondola aspect to this year's event, and there will be two parking lot options with full service check-ins. Utah Junction and Corona Lot & street parking will all be availble for our two Check-in points.
• Strollers/ADA: This year’s route is the Corona Way trail. It is a loose gravel 4x4 road up the entire way. Once at the top of the event, however, some of the bar locations will not be accessible with strollers and/or wheelchairs. Some sections of the trail are reasonably steep, so keep that in mind!
• Proper footwear is highly advised, especially if you have ankle issues! T he event location at the top has rugged terrain and can be steep and rocky in places.

Check out Winter Park's food options when you buy your ticket - Purchase via an Add-on ticket. Sandwich + chip options (Turkey club, Grilled chicken, Roast beef, and Vegetarian Hummus Wrap - Gluten Free options available; add $3).

>> Be sure to bring a valid ID with proof of your ticket on your phone or a print-out. *TIP: Take a photo/screenshot of your ticket from your email, as wi-fi may not be reliable upon check-in

>> No overnight camping - event ends at 5:00 pm.

>> No smoking.

>> Furry friends are welcome, but must be on a leash at all times. Make sure to pick-up after your pup, too!

>> Please be mindful of wildlife in the area and be sure to exercise Leave No Trace principles (pack it in, pack it out!).

>> NO OUTSIDE ALCOHOL. Alcohol consumption is permitted in designated event areas marked by the Backcountry Tap Room bar and should not extend on to trails.

>> No refunds. Event is rain, snow or shine (check the weather and plan for it all - come prepared!). Weather will be continuously monitored, as the safety of our guests is paramount. If lightning and thunderstorms are in the area, the event may be shut down or paused for safety - an announcement will be made asking all guests to head down the mountain (event is not above tree line).
