This event will now be held at The Depot in Norman.Join us on Wednesday, November 20th, for Transgender Day of Remembrance. This day memorializes transgender individuals who have died because of transphobia and acts of violence against the trans community. Transgender day of Remembrance was inspired by the vigil held for Rita Hester, a trans woman from Allston, MA, who was murdered in 1998.
The Transgender Day of Remembrance vigil not only allows us to mourn those who have been lost but also allows us to share their individual names. It brings awareness to the broader community and allows us to come together and show trans individuals they have a community that loves them and will continue to fight for them.
This event is the result of a partnership between Norman Pride, Cleveland County Democratic Party, and PFLAG Norman.
