About the event:
This Taiwan Day event serves as a "proof of concept" game, meaning if the team sees that this event is viable (via ticket sales), Taiwan Day will be adopted as an official event in the coming seasons, with the first official event target date being 2025.
MGY has been permitted by the Washington Nationals (unaffiliated) to host this event as a part of the 6/15 Miami Marlins vs Washington Nationals. MGY has taken actions, such as designing and printing souvenir jerseys to provide as authentic of a Taiwan Day experience as possible. Please understand if this event feels comparatively inadequate to Taiwan/Taiwan Heritage Days with other teams.
This 2024 Taiwan Day serves as a way for us, the Taiwanese Community of the DMV, to prove to the Nationals that we are a strong, vibrant, and dedicated group, and serves as a much bigger mission to launch and establish a dedicated Washington DC Taiwan Day for years to come.

Millennial Global Youth (MGY) is a registered 501(c)(3)organization based in Rockville, MD dedicated to spreading the culture of Taiwan in hopes of promoting multicultural diversity and building relationships within the community. MGY also focuses on developing youth and student volunteers' social, intellectual, interpersonal, and leadership skills within the community through cultural volunteering efforts.
