What to expect
May 31
WVHS participants wishing to take advantage of camping at the Dunlop Hollow Group Site can begin to arrive at 1pm.
Several species surveys will be conducted throughout the day.
June 1

Directions
BE AWARE GPS CAN OFTEN GIVE WRONG DIRECTIONS. From I-64 East or West Take Exit 58-A, and drive south on US 119. Turn left onto Oakwood Road at the second stop light, (following the brown and white routing signs to Kanawha State Forest), go ¾ mile and take a left, continuing on Oakwood Road, turn right onto Bridge Road, and right onto Connell Road. At the bottom of Connell, make a sharp left onto Kanawha State Forest Drive, and continue on this road to the Kanawha State Forest Entrance Sign. At the Forest entrance, stay right (DO NOT TURN LEFT). Dunlop Hollow group camp will be on the right shortly after Spotted Salamander Trail. If you go up the hill you have gone too far. Directional signage will be posted

Classification - This campground is a primitive camping area.
PLEASE BE AWARE
Registration will close at 50 adult registrations.
Participants CANNOT set up camp before noon on May 31 and MUST vacate by 11:00am June 2.
Children MUST be accompanied by an adult.
Participants MUST RSVP for safety and emergency protocols
Any WVHS merch participants may want for such as t-shirts, stickers, etc. must be prepaid. These items will be available for pick up ONLY during the group camping/symposium event.
Zero exceptions can be made.
Participants are responsible for unattended equipment, vehicles and other personal property.
Participants will be confined to camping in the designated camping area. No camping is allowed in any structures or any other areas
Fires will be confined to the existing fire ring. No firewood may be brought in from outside the park.
All food/beverages can be in non-glass containers only.
Ensure vehicle roadways are kept clear for emergency access and for other park visitors. All emergency access points MUST remain clear at all times.
Ensure that all accidents, injuries, or illnesses occurring on State Parks property are reported to WVHS promptly
