From November 6th through the beginning of December the front yard of James Humphrey House, Plainville’s History Museum & Archives will once again be the site of the 2024 Veterans Day Salute to Service Flag Garden. The Garden is open to the public and we encourage everyone to take a moment to walk through the Garden, read the names of Plainville’s Heroes, and share the Garden with friends, family, and the community. The over 800 flags represent over 1,000 service men and women with a connection to Plainville. Our oldest dating back to King Philip’s War. The honor section pay tribute to dozens who have received military honors or those who sadly never came home to Plainville.
Our Flag Garden is a place of recognition, honor, appreciation, and gratitude. It is just one way the Plainville Historical Commission honors the town’s Military Heroes.
Please consider joining us on November 6th to help plant the flags and help spread the word. Share to the community pages, encourage locals to visit the garden, and if you have a family member or friend who has a connection to Plainville but is not in the Garden please contact the Historical Commission with as much information about the serviceman or woman as you have available. We will ensure that they are represented in the 2025 Memorial Day Garden.
Also more information to follow, but on November 11th, at 11 am, our volunteers will be at the Museum to ring the Plainville School Bell.
