On April 27th, the Scholastic Chess Championship was held to determine the representatives that will represent Arkansas at the National Tournament of Champions. In order to help the representatives pay for their expenses to travel, we have organized this tournament to raise funds and provide students an additional opportunity to play chess over the summer. The tournament will be held at North Little Rock High School. There will be a section for students in grades K-5, 6-8, and 9-12. CXR will be used to rate the tournament, but if you have a US Chess membership, that rating will be used for pairings. If you would like to use your US Chess rating, please contact the tournament director. Entry fee is $20 per person, and plaques will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd per section. All proceeds from this event will go towards stipends for the representatives. To register for this event, you can register through reg4chess here. Nicholas Jaeger will be the tournament director.
