Deborah K. Marshall, COO of AmFund, has been named the 2024 Legacy Award Recipient by Modern Widows Club | The Movement for Widow Care (MWC) for her outstanding contributions to widow support and her lifelong dedication to empowering nonprofits nationwide.MWC will honor Deborah at a special award luncheon on Thursday, October 24, from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM ET at Heathrow Legacy Country Club @heathrowlegacycc in Lake Mary, FL. Esteemed family, colleagues, and friends will offer insights into both her professional achievements and the personal generosity that defines her life’s work.

The MWC Legacy Award is presented annually to individuals or organizations who demonstrate exceptional commitment to empowering widows and uplifting communities globally. Honorees embody virtues of compassion, resilience, humility, and leadership, serving as shining examples of selfless dedication to others. Their work leaves a lasting impact, inspiring hope and transformation in the lives they touch.
“We are privileged to recognize Deborah, a true local hero, with this national honor,” said MWC Founder Carolyn Moor.
As COO of the American Fundraising Foundation (AmFund) @amfund based in Maitland, FL, Deborah oversees support for over 700 nonprofits across the country. Under her leadership, AmFund has raised nearly $60 million to support charitable causes through its mission to “Fund Your Cause.” She also administers the American Fundraising Educational Foundation, a federally recognized 501(c)(3) organization.
Deborah became widowed in 2022 after 25 years of building a career, family and marriage.
