Breaking Down Silos: How to Join Forces for Improved Outcomes and Wellbeing
Often, intellectual/developmental disability services and mental health services operate in silos that create barriers to many seeking services. This presentation will describe historical factors contributing to this siloing, common misunderstandings and practices that perpetuate siloing, and evidence-based practices to address these systemic issues. In breaking down silos and building the capacity of all providers to effectively serve all those in need, we create more opportunities for wellbeing and health for all citizens.
