The Chicago Scots Highland Games look very different this year. First of all, the Games have moved from Hamilton Lakes in Itasca to the DuPage County Fair Grounds in Wheaton. As this is our first year in this new location, we have opted to put the dance competition inside Building 1 located at the south end of the Fair Grounds.

We think that you will enjoy being in this new space as it is very roomy, has a stage, air-conditioning, a built-in sound system, and indoor bathrooms.

The dancers have been asked to LEAD the Parade during the Opening Ceremonies, giving us the opportunity to see and be seen by the games attendees which is why we are setting up the competition as a split day for all categories except PRIMARY that will dance in the afternoon.

The goal is to be finished with nationals and have everyone get their highland outfits on for the parade. When the parade is finished, there should be time for the dancers to relax and have some lunch before starting with the Fling in the afternoon.

So, at least for this year, you will not need to bring pop-up tents, lawn chairs, blankets, etc. as there will be chairs provided in the indoor space.

The Fair Ground gates do not open until 9:00 which is why we have scheduled registration for 9:30 with the morning dancing starting at 10:00. PRIMARY registration will be at 1:00 and the afternoon dancing will begin at 1:30. Awards will take place at the end of the day.
