2024 CA State Capitol Park Juneteenth Holiday Celebration - Civil War Grove

Our 2024 California State Capitol Juneteenth Holiday Celebration continues a proud "California Grown" tradition from June 19, 1865.

Since before the founding of California, September 9, 1850, with the 1850 US Compromise, both free and enslaved people of Pan African Ancestry have contributed salient contributions to the forward flow of humanity.

California residents participated during the US Civil War in many ways. We contributed Confederate soldier and Union soldiers, to include nearly 2,000 enlisted United States Colored Troops from California.

Together, let us explore "California Grown" reasons to celebrate our newest Federal Holiday and help bring a greater awareness and appreciation for an investment with clear benefits for a paid California Juneteenth Holiday for all residents of the Great State of California.
