2022 Prestonian Lecture - “Freemasonry and the Royal Family”We are honoured to welcome the Prestonian Lecturer 2022,
W.Bro Dr John Hawkins, PDepGSwdB, who will deliver his acclaimed Prestonian Lecture.
Dr Hawkins’ lecture charts the history of royal involvement in Freemasonry from 1737 to the present day, exploring both well-known and lesser-known members of the Royal Family. It also highlights those Royals who, while not Freemasons themselves, actively supported Masonic charities and recognised Freemasonry as a force for good.
Dr Hawkins has been granted unprecedented access to the archives of UGLE, alongside material from the Royal Archives at Windsor, making this a truly exceptional and insightful presentation.
