Join Ian Olsson for a candid talk on photography, theatre, and ADHD—exploring creativity, business, and capturing moments over 20 years.
About this Event

A candid look at creativity, business, and the way we think.

Cambridge-based photographer Ian Olsson brings two decades of professional experience to this honest and inspiring talk—sharing the highs, lows, and lessons learned across a diverse career spanning weddings, events, commercial work, and live performance.

From working with local businesses through Indie Cambridge to photographing theatre productions and celebrity-led pantomimes, Ian reveals how he captures fast-paced, high-pressure moments—and how those skills translate across all areas of photography.

📸 What You’ll Learn:

  • Inspiration from a varied 20-year photography career
  • Anticipating and creatively capturing the moment
  • Building connections to get the best from your subjects
  • Photographing theatre and working with challenging lighting
  • Understanding Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and its impact on creativity and business
  • Practical ways ADHD awareness can improve life and workflow

✨ Blending personal insight with professional experience, Ian explores how understanding the ADHD brain can unlock new approaches to both photography and business.

👋 About Ian Olsson:

Ian’s passion for photography began in a childhood spent travelling the world, inspiring a lifelong interest in people and places. He started his business over 20 years ago while at university, photographing theatre productions and dance shows.

Today, he works with a wide range of clients—from performing arts schools to major theatres across the UK—while continuing to specialise in the fast-paced world of live performance photography.

Alongside his professional work, Ian runs popular smartphone photography workshops and helps businesses create high-quality imagery for social media.

A passionate advocate for ADHD awareness, Ian brings openness and clarity to the conversation—exploring topics such as rejection sensitivity, demand avoidance, and time blindness, and how understanding these can be empowering both personally and professionally.
