A Two Day Class: A comprehensive and hands-on class! Each student creating their own unique 15" x 60" scarf, along with a sample scarf, provides a great opportunity for artistic expression. The process of drawing the design with pencil and learn the technique of gutta, followed by painting and allowing the colors to dry overnight . Coming back the second day to iron, wash, dry, and finish the scarves ensures a professional touch to the final product. It's a thorough and fulfilling experience for anyone looking to explore silk scarf painting!

Starting my art career in the Ozarks in the early 1980’s I began painting and weaving as a member of the Arkansas Craft Guild. The highlight of that time was being selected to create an ornament for the White House Christmas Tree in 1993.

Relocating in the early 1990’s to the Monterey Peninsula, California area I began painting in silk exclusively. I was drawn to the luminescence and watercolor like quality of the transparent dyes on the shimmering silk. i focus on silk scarves a a wonderful rectangular form for my subjects. I generally interpret nature or nature based designs, but I also use the landscape in my scarves as well. My scarves are all unique one of a kind paintings in a functional scarf form. I recently have added decorative silk pillows to my line and wall hangings too.I was nominated as Artist of the Year from the Gargiulo Art Foundation. I do Plein air paint in and around the Palm Coast region. I silk paint and dye my work in my Palm Coast studio. I show and display at Art Spotlight in Ormond Beach, GOLA - Gallery of Local Arts in Flagler Beach and at The Museum of Arts and Science gift shop (MOAS).
