2-Day Resin Workshop: Jewelry

In this workshop, you will be making our own beads, and more, to make jewelry.

Day one (Wednesday, 9/10), we will learn the basics of mixing and pouring resin, including how to add color using alcohol inks or mica pigment powders. We will add this to our molds and make beads. These will need to cure (harden) and that can take anywhere from 24 to 72 hours.

We will also play with UV resin and learn a little bit about the difference. Please note that I said “a little bit”, since UV resin is fairly new to me as well. With the UV resin we will make a necklace or earrings, using an open bezel, adding dried flowers and other fun things.

On day 2 (Wednesday, 9/17), we will demold our beads and finish, sand and polish them, if needed. After that, we get creative and make a piece of jewelry using beads we made ourselves.
