Childbirth Express Class – Includes Hospital Tour

NOTE: Only one ticket per couple is needed.

Class Overview:
This 2-day express class is ideal for busy parents-to-be who want a complete childbirth education in a condensed format. Choose from either two consecutive Sundays OR one weekend (Saturday and Sunday).

What You’ll Learn:
Day 1 (Morning & Afternoon)

• Stages and phases of labor & delivery
• Basic comfort techniques
• Pain relief options & medications
• Medical interventions
• Cesarean birth
• Postpartum care

Day 2 (Morning & Afternoon)

• Infant Care Essentials: diapering, bathing, newborn behavior, and more
• Prenatal Breastfeeding: basics of positioning, latch, and more Our comprehensive childbirth education series includes a 45-minute hospital tour of the following areas:
• Women’s Evaluation and Treatment Unit
• Labor & Delivery / Postpartum Unit
• Wesson 2 Postpartum Unit
• NICU/CCN Area (view from outside nurseries)

Bonus Class:
Our “Our Baby’s Home! Now What?” class is included and should be scheduled for after your baby is born for extra support.

Our classes combine practical information, hands-on activities, and expert guidance to help you feel prepared and confident as you approach your birth experience and the early days with your newborn.

FAQs

What are the parking options for the event?

Please allow extra time for parking at the Springfield campus. You may park in the Wesson Women's lot in front of the Wesson Women's entrance off of Chestnut Street. If there is no parking available in this lot, feel free to use the larger lot adjacent to the Chestnut building.

Can I update my registration information?

If you have a change in email address, insurance or other pertinent information feel free to update your registration.

Is there somewhere to purchase food on campus during class break time?

There is a full-service cafeteria on the 2nd floor between the Springfield and Daly building and Atwater's Café near the Ph*rm*cy/gift shop on the 1st floor Daly entrance. Please be aware Baystate Health is cashless even at the cafe's. Credit/Debit and checks are accepted.

What is the refund policy for the class?

Cancellations up to 7 days before the class receive a full refund, minus a processing fee. Refunds are not available after that time.

Are Parent Education classes covered by health insurance?

Please check with your insurance company to see if they reimburse you for childbirth education. Please print your class receipts to submit for reimbursement. This will be provided to you once the class is completed.

If you have Be Healthy insurance by Health New England, please call our office to register for classes which can be billed directly (at no cost to you)

If you have any other MA state insurance, the class bundle is $25 instead of $165. You must register by calling our office. 413-794-5515
