2 Day Childbirth Express Education

This is a 2-day class held on 2 consecutive Sundays. Class, morning, includes the stages and phases of labor and delivery and basic comfort techniques. Afternoon, is medications, medical interventions, and postpartum care. The next Sunday morning class will consist of Infant Care and the afternoon class will be Prenatal Breastfeeding. Our Baby's Home! - Now What? class (to be taken after baby is born) is also included and is scheduled for the closest class after your due date. This bundle also inlcudes a brief overview in the Lundy Boardroom on Wesson Ground floor followed by a 45 minute tour of the birthing areas including:

• Women's Evaluation and Treatment Unit
• Labor and Delivery/Postpartum unit
• C-Section Postpartum unit
• NICU/CCN area (not inside the nurseries)

FAQs

What are the parking options for the event?

Please allow extra time for parking at the Springfield campus. You may park in the Wesson Women's lot in front of the Wesson Women's entrance off of Chestnut Street. If there is no parking available in this lot, feel free to use the larger lot adjacent to the Chestnut building.

Can I update my registration information?

If you have a change in email address, insurance or other pertinent information feel free to update your registration.

Is there somewhere to purchase food on campus during class break time?

There is a full-service cafeteria on the 2nd floor between the Springfield and Daly building and Atwater's Café near the Ph*rm*cy/gift shop on the 1st floor Daly entrance. Please be aware Baystate Health is cashless even at the cafe's. Credit/Debit and checks are accepted.

What is the refund policy for the class?

Cancellations up to 7 days before the class receive a full refund, minus a processing fee. Refunds are not available after that time.

Are Parent Education classes covered by health insurance?

Please check with your insurance company to see if they reimburse you for childbirth education. Please print your class receipts to submit for reimbursement. This will be provided to you once the class is completed.

If you have Be Healthy insurance by Health New England, please call our office to register for classes which can be billed directly (at no cost to you)

If you have any other MA state insurance, the class bundle is $25 instead of $165. You must register by calling our office. 413-794-5515
