Have you always wanted to be able to support someone experiencing a mental health challenge, but never know quite what to say or do? If so, then Mental Health First Aid is for you! During this training, you'll learn how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among adults. You’ll build skills and confidence you need to reach out and provide initial support to those who are struggling. You’ll also learn how to help connect them to appropriate support.
Important Details:
-This training will occur virtually in two, 4-hour time periods on Friday, Dec. 6th AND Friday, Dec. 13th from 8:30am-12:30pm EST
- You must attend BOTH DAYS' full sessions in order to be certified as a Mental Health First Aider.
-Your camera must be on for at least 90% of the time , per certification requirements from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing.
-There are about 90 minutes of required pre-work to complete online before the training date.
-This training is part of our Certified Well-being Ambassador Series.
Registering on this event page is the first step to attending the training, however, please note, approved participants will receive an email 2 weeks prior to the training inviting them to login to their account the MHFA Connect Portal (we will create this account for you). This will allow you to complete the required self-paced pre-work in the Connect portal before the training date (this pre-work takes approx. 90 minutes to complete). You do NOT need to create your own Connect account- we will do this for you and send you your login info 2 weeks prior to the training.
A Zoom event link will be sent out to participants in a separate email, before the day of the training, provided they have completed the required pre-work.
