About this Event
2%: A Celebration of Black Artistry
Exhibition at Saddleback College
2% is a powerful, community-driven art exhibition that honors Black artistry, storytelling, and creative legacy—past, present, and future. The title reflects a striking truth: Black residents make up roughly 2% of Orange County’s population, yet their cultural impact, creativity, and influence reach far beyond numbers.
This exhibition invites viewers to slow down and really look. Through photography, painting, mixed media, and more, the artists featured in 2% explore themes of identity, resilience, memory, joy, and lived experience. Each piece is both a personal statement and a collective voice—rooted in history, shaped by the present, and pushing toward a more inclusive future.
Presented at Saddleback College, 2% continues an ongoing series curated to create space, visibility, and meaningful dialogue within academic and community settings. This is not just an art show—it’s a reminder that representation matters, stories deserve to be seen, and creativity thrives when communities come together.
All are welcome. Come experience the work, meet the artists, and be part of a growing movement that celebrates Black artistry with intention and respect.
