This Canicross time trial event starts and finishes at the car park at Philips Park, Whitefield and takes you through some of the easiest and nicest trails that Prestwich has to offer.The route leaves the park and heads towards the Outwood Trail, then through Hurst Wood, before hitting the Outwood Trail and circling back to Philips Park. Please be aware you will be running bridges that cross the M60 in the park.
A water station will be present at the start / finish only, there is also a long stretch of trail near the river Irwell approx. 7K on the course, there are no manned water stations on the course.

Important Information.
Parking is limited - Please do not park on the road.
Equipment
Dogs must wear a suitable harness and be attached to their handler by a line containing some bungee to act as a shock absorber.
Lines must not be longer than 2.5 meters when fully extended.
No head collars, shock collars, choke chains or flexi leads are permitted. Whips are not permitted.
Muzzles may be used but they must be the open, basket type, through which dogs can drink and take treats.
Runners are not allowed to wear shoes that could be dangerous for dogs. Shoes with metal spikes are strictly forbidden.
Exceptions may be granted in regard to the above equipment requirements if a competitor is learning how to Canicross (debut), then a hand-held leash and flat (classic) collar will be accepted. The competitor must make this known at registration; exceptions are at the discretion of the Race Director.
