Rosie’s Jazz Jam Guidelines
Our jazz jam at Rosie’s is meant to be inclusive, supportive, and fun. All skill levels are welcome whether you are a singer or an instrumentalist.
The house band, The Chris Moon Quartet, includes vocals, guitar, drums and bass.
Instrumentalists: should bring their own instruments.
Horns/Woodwinds: A mic will be available for your use.
Guitar/Bass: A small guitar and bass amp will be available.
Singers: will have a mic to use, unless you’d like to use your own.
Participants should arrive with charts of the song(s) they would like the band to accompany them with. This can be in the form of a lead sheet or box chart.
(A lead sheet has chords and melody line. A box chart is simply chords and form structure (iREALPro is a good example of a box chart.)
Format of the jam:
There will be a sign up sheet; first-come, first-served. You will perform one song (two at the band’s discretion). After your performance, you will have the opportunity to sign up again at the bottom of the list to rotate back in. This gives everyone an opportunity to perform at least once.
